Textile Color is a range of brilliant, permanent water-based colours. Once applied to the fabric, they form a soft, velvety texture. The range includes 54 colours, opaque, transparent, metallic and fluorescent, as well as 6 colours with a glitter finish.
New formula:
The new Textile Color formula is ideal for all fabrics, even those that have not been pre-washed. Textile Color does not need to be fixed by ironing, it is sufficient to let the colours dry on the material for 48 hours to achieve maximum adhesion to the fabric.
Instructions for use:
Before painting, it is advisable to pre-wash the textiles, as not all manufacturers use the same type of sizing, but in any case the new formula shows excellent adhesion even on fabrics that have not been previously washed. Shake the bottle before using the paint. Apply with brush, sponge, roller, etc. The creamy consistency of the paints is ideal for stencil techniques as well as screen and print applications. The paints can be used directly without dilution or diluted with distilled water. However, it is important not to exceed a dilution ratio of 20% as this would lead to a slight loss of adhesion. Textile Medium, reference 81, is recommended as a thinner (instead of water) as it does not affect the quality and adhesion properties of the paints.
Airbrushing:
For airbrush application, Textile Color can be diluted with our Airbrush Thinner, reference 71.361. We recommend a mixture of 2 parts paint and 1 part thinner to achieve the desired consistency for use in airbrushes with a diameter of 0.2 to 0.3 mm. The compressor pressure must be set to approximately 1 kg.
Fabrics:
The best results are obtained on natural fabrics such as cotton or linen, but the adhesion of Textile Color to silk and synthetic fibers such as Lycra or polyester is excellent because the new formula allows the colors to expand along with the fabric without causing cracks in the paint film. On dark fabrics, it is advisable to use opaque or metallic colors and in some cases it may be necessary to apply several layers of color on top of each other or to apply a white base to achieve the desired color intensity.
Textile Medium, reference 81: Textile Medium extends and dilutes the colors but does not alter or affect the adhesion properties of the colors; it can also be used as a final protection.
Transfer Medium, reference 82 (Image Transfer), is used to transfer printed or photocopied designs to fabrics. For more information about this product, see the tutorial videos in the Decorative Arts section of our website.
