We use seasoned and kiln-dried pine for the stretcher frame. The wood is finger-jointed to prevent the natural tendency of the wood to warp and, thanks to multiple gluing, is almost free of warping- a high-quality handcrafted product at an extraordinarily affordable price.The stretcher frame is available from a side length of 25 to 400 cm. A canvas floater is a frame that leaves a small gap between the canvas and the frame to enhance the effect of the painting. It is ideal for framing covered stretcher frames, which are usually used for oil paintings. The canvas floater frames the painting at a distance of 5 mm.Our partner workshop in Poland produces the frames from Meranti - a light but very robust tropical wood. For formats over 1 metre we use Dark Red Meranti, which has similar strength properties to oak. For smaller formats up to 1 meter we use the slightly less expensive Light Red Meranti to achieve a good price-quality ratio. We can also produce canvas floaters from harder woods, such as oak or beech, upon customer request.
