Use:
As a solvent, extraction and crystallization agent, for example in paint strippers for oil and lacquer paints, solvent for acetyl cellulose in lacquer and acetate silk dyeing, solvent for acetylene, for adhesive production, as an alcohol substitute in the dewatering of microscopic preparations, in the synthesis of diacetone alcohol, methyl isobutyl ketone, bromoacetone, chloroform, iodoform, sulfonal, etc., for dissolving essential oils, balsams, chlorophyll, gums, resins, etc.
