Aquarius Watercolors
All AQUARIUS watercolors have excellent light fastness (minimum rating of 7 on the Blue Wool Scale), meaning the colors will not fade for at least 100 years (if used correctly). In contrast to other watercolors, the palette of our Aquarius colors consists exclusively of lightfast pigments.
For this reason, our products do not contain any non-permanent pigments such as PG8, PR83, PY1 or fluorescent. On the other hand, they contain some unique tones that are not available anywhere else, such as PY61, PY168, PV37, PBr23 or PBk8.
We only produce small quantities of our paints and this allows us to maintain exceptional quality of our paints. Each batch is tested for its performance characteristics: vibrancy, flowability, viscosity, color value, transparency, grain, undertone, color strength, clarity and particle size. For each color we select the perfect cut that corresponds to the particle size and is optimal for the performance of the color
We currently produce 180 colors, 154 of which are monopigment colors. Such a wide range of monopigment colors allows artists to mix them and create their own high quality color palettes
Our 34 EARTH SHADES are made from natural earths, not synthetic iron oxides. With colors like Aquarius Black, Mummy Transparent Red, Hematite, Van Dyck Brown or Caput Mortuum, we give the artist even more choice.
Some unique shades are created exclusively by ROMAN SZMAL ART, such as: B. Aquarius Green, Przybysz's Grey, Ocean Blue, Shadow Violet, Green Gold and Olive Green.
We only use the highest quality ingredients: pharmaceutical grade gum arabic and glicerine, lime honey, distilled water and pure pigments. We only buy from suppliers with a good reputation.
Each cup of AQUARIUS colors is filled and labeled by hand. The labels on our watercolors are made of hand-painted watercolor paper and provide information about lightfastness, grain, transparency and the degree of penetration into paper.
